The RB3 is SolarOptim's latest innovation for fast adaptable solar panel cleaning.

RB3
The RB3 is a specialized machine designed for utility-scale solar panel cleaning, specifically tailored for use with ground-mounted single-axis trackers or fixed tilt systems with panels arranged in 1P configuration.
Key Features
Adaptable – The RB3 adjusts to a wide range of panel sizes.
Effective – It restores power production with a wet clean rotary brush.
Minimize water usage - Fine-tune water use to match soiling levels.
Safe – Its lightweight dielectric design ensures safety for operators and modules.
Terrain friendly – It navigates rows inaccessible to tractor systems.
Tracker navigation – Operator steps over tracker drives without the need for reversing.
Simple – Crews can be quickly trained for effective operation.
Adaptable
- Unlike competitors who are unable to adapt to various lengths
Tracker Navigation
Popular single-axis tracker systems often incorporate drive shafts and/or cable trays that interconnect rows, posing a barrier for tractor-mounted cleaning systems. This forces them to reverse or risk damaging sensitive ground cover, particularly with skid steers. Consequently, this leads to decreased cleaning productivity and potential costly damage to solar infrastructure.
RB3 operators can easily step over most obstructions without needing to reverse or cause damage to the solar plant.

Obstacle Navigation
This rock-lined drainage ditch is one of many obstacle examples encountered. In this example the ditch needs to be traversed 500 times for farm cleaning, rendering it impassable for tractor-mounted cleaning systems.
With RB3, operators can carefully navigate through this ditch with minimal impact on the cleaning rate and without disturbing site drainage.
Rotating Brush
Operator Safety
The RB3 is equipped with dielectric lift and push handles, as well as wireless remote controls, to isolate the operator from electric shock. Emergency shut-offs and deadman switches further enhance operator and plant safety. Our lightweight design and travel system minimize crew fatigue and simplify the lifting and shifting of the RB1 from one array to the next.
Wet Wash / Water Use
The RB3 integrates an adjustable nozzle system that works alongside the rotary brush to achieve optimal cleaning performance, especially on complex soiling. This system allows for fine-tuning of water usage to match soiling levels and cleaning rates, thus reducing water consumption and the associated cost of transporting clean water to solar farms.
Support Unit
Our Support Unit supplies two RB3 washers to maximize the rate of cleaning.
Support Unit includes the following standard features:
1000-liter water tank
Two electric remote control hose reels with 100m of hose.
Diaphragm pump to provide consistent water pressure to the RB3 washers.
Skid design for easy mounting to a flat deck truck/ute.
